Anthony Macisco blogs on security as it relates to supply chain issues, cross-border concerns, bank security and general issues affecting critical infrastructure and key resource (CIKR) sectors.
Tony has over 30 years of extensive leadership and management experience for agencies in the Departments of the Treasury (USSS Executive Protective Service and US Customs-Investigations) and Homeland Security (Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Investigations), in investigations and intelligence fields, in both a covert and overt capacity.
While with the US Customs Office of Investigations, he co-created the Americas’ Counter-Smuggling Initiative ACSI program, which is the forerunner to the current Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program. The ACSI and C-TPAT programs delivered a process that can be audited from the foreign supply origin to the final destination in the US and every step in between. This included creating documentation, recommendations and solutions for the entire supply chain and any entity that touched the supply chain to ensure that a closed and protected system was created and that could then be verified.
He also has over 3 years as a senior private sector security executive for a top 10 US bank, providing international security, executive protection and intelligence analysis of risk opportunities. He helped reduce bank robberies by 15%, cash loss by 32%, and workplace violence by 48%.
Tony is currently a partner in The Densus Group, an international consulting firm that specializes in public order management techniques for foreign and domestic government agencies and also assists international businesses in identifying and exploiting risk opportunities to take advantage of capital investment and preservation to help create economic opportunities within high-risk locations.
Tony has extensive experience throughout the United States and other countries. He has a Masters degree in Management and is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) from ASIS International. The CPP designation is the highest designation awarded to individuals whose primary responsibilities are in security management who have demonstrated advanced knowledge in security solutions, best business practices and recognized as proven leaders in their profession.
He will be joining Notre Dame College as an adjunct faculty-member in the Graduate Security Policy Studies Program, teaching Strategic Leadership and Critical Infrastructure Protection and Resiliency.
