From Politico:

The House Appropriations Committee narrowly rejected a Democratic bid Wednesday to slow the deportation of undocumented immigrants who have lived in this country for years and are the parents of young children recognized as permanent residents or U.S. citizens. The 26-23 roll call came as the committee approved a $39.2 billion Homeland Security budget for the coming year — a bill that the leadership had to amend itself at the last minute to address the almost opposite situation: child migrants crossing the border without their parents or an adult relative.
