A bipartisan bill to reform the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) acquisition management was passed Monday by the House. The DHS Acquisition Accountability and Efficiency Act (HR 4228) would require greater oversight of DHS’s purchasing process while ensuring needed flexibility and providing clarity for American businesses. It would also require DHS to improve discipline, accountability and transparency in acquisition program management.
