Many persons who have the highest levels of network access are often granted access to data and areas of their company or organization’s network for which they don’t need access and have no responsibility. Sixty-five percent of these individuals recently surveyed indicated that curiosity – and not job necessity – causes them to access sensitive or confidential data. Commissioned by Raytheon, the survey – contained in a new report on insider treats, Privileged User Abuse & The Insider Threat – found people with access to privileged data…frequently put their organization’s sensitive information at risk.
