White House chief cyber security coordinator Michael Daniel announced Thursday that the Obama administration determined no new regulatory authority was needed to enhance US cybersecurity and that the administration would seek to streamline regulation to promote greater cybersecurity in the private sector. Internet Security Alliance (ISA) President Larry Clinton called the decision a significant new step toward a sustainable system of cybersecurity and lauded the administration for its sophisticated understanding of the cyber threat.
