Roman Valerevich Seleznev, a Russian national, was arrested July 5 by the US Secret Service (USSS) after having been indicted in the Western District of Washington in March 2011 for hacking into point of sale systems at retailers throughout the United States between October 2009 and February 2011. The indictment alleges that Seleznev created and operated infrastructure to facilitate the theft and sales of credit card data and used servers located all over the world to facilitate the operation.
