Coast Guard Auxiliary Offers Civilians Training- The Journal Star 11/27/2011

A Bradley University senior hopes students next year will have an ROTC-like program for the U.S. Coast Guard on campus.

Nicholas Swiatkowski, 21, of Orland Park is behind the movement to bring the University Auxiliary Program to the Hilltop. He says he believes students will embrace the idea because of what it offers for those not looking for a career in the service.

“Students will be able to assume leadership roles within their community and take those skills and training into the workforce or military upon their graduation, or even stay within the Auxiliary,” he said.
