“Public outreach” and “media engagement” are largely extinct species at DHS, but the Science and Technology Directorate remains a preserve for the notion that public-private collaboration leads to greater security. Now, S&T Under Secretary Reggie Brothers has shared a note inviting the homeland security community to weigh in on future threats, challenges and needs. Check out the links below to help S&T plan for the future.

S&T is Dreaming Big – and We Need Your Help

As the new Under Secretary, I am reaching out to you – our partners across DHS, the response community, industry, academia, and the entire homeland security community – for your insights in defining S&T’s Visionary Goals for the future.

Over the past several months, our S&T team has been working hard to develop and refine our visionary goals, based on the policies and priorities of the White House, the 2014 Quadrennial Homeland Security Review, and the DHS Secretary.

What will the future of homeland security look like in 20 to 30 years? How can we be ready? Share your thoughts – join in the online discussion between now and September 7 at http://scitech.ideascale.com.

I encourage you to join the discussion. Registration is easy. Simply visit http://scitech.ideascale.com, create an account, and join in the conversation.

Respectfully,
Reggie Brothers
