Immigration, emergency preparedness, smuggling (whether drugs, weapons, DVDs or human beings), warrantless wiretapping, port security, counterterrorism …every day, these issues are discussed in the media, the committee rooms of Congress, the closed-off scifs of national security and intelligence agencies, and the coffee shops in small towns across the country … as part of ongoing efforts to improve our nation’s homeland security.
With so many conflicting ideas and policies about what it takes to secure our borders from another 9-11, the homeland security environment can become confusing and overwhelming. We have started Security Debrief, a new blog dedicated to homeland security, national security, and law enforcement, to provide context to these various ideas and policies by a group of experienced security experts.
Our contributors – whose backgrounds range from field agents to the heads of federal law enforcement and national security agencies – won’t always agree with one another, but you can be sure of one thing: They know what they’re talking about. Security Debrief is a multi-contributor blog comprised of seasoned professionals who have worked at all levels of homeland security and law enforcement.
