FEMA Scores High in Review of Emergency Support Capabilities – CQ Homeland Security
The Federal Emergency Management Agency received mostly good marks in a Homeland Security inspector general’s assessment of how well the agency has matched its emergency support functions to the requirements of the National Response Framework, an all-hazards guide for U.S. agencies.
The inspector general reported that FEMA made progress in developing capabilities and procedures to coordinate with federal, state and private partners to address areas including restoring transportation, communications, medical and fire response and health care after a large-scale diaster.
