The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) released a report on Tuesday detailing simulations of radiological and nuclear threats with law enforcement personnel and emergency services of San Diego. The simulations allowed those participating to test protocols and procedure in a realistic situation and allowed law enforcement to review detection techniques in case of these kinds of threats.
