Shortly before 2 PM, a 5.8 earthquake hit Mineral, Virginia, affecting Washington, DC, Maryland and the Eastern seaboard. The Pentagon, the Capitol Building and other buildings across the city were evacuated. DCs workforce emptied into the parks and plazas around the area. Details of the earthquake are forthcoming.
