House Committee Report Disputes TSA Findings On Private Airport Screening – HSToday
The US House of Representatives Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure issued a report Friday claiming that the use of private airport screeners under federal supervision is both more efficient and cost effective than an all-federal screening force.
The report, TSA Ignores More Cost-Effective Screening Model, compared costs for the two passenger screening models by investigating screening operations at two large West Coast airports: Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), where screening is conducted by TSA, and  San Francisco International Airport (SFO), which opted for a private-federal force under the Screening Partnership Program (SPP), a program allowing airports to choose to use private screening contractors under federal supervision.
