Advisers resign, slam deportation program | program, report, tas – News – The Orange County Register

A group tasked with reviewing a controversial Obama administration deportation program blasted immigration officials as creating confusion and distrust, and advised the Department of Homeland Security to use the program to go after serious criminals who are in the country illegally and not those suspected of low-level traffic violations.

The task force detailed their concerns about Secure Communities in a report that was sent to the Homeland Security Advisory Council on Wednesday afternoon. The Register obtained a copy of the report, which voices the committee’s discoveries and recommendations.
